A svi smo Božja stvorenja, dragocjeni i jedinstveni. (dM)

After listening to today’s readings we get to ask ourselves, “Is this master unfair? How could he pay the same salary to the person working for one hour and those who worked the whole day?”  However, the true question should be, “Should servants be so concerned with what others receive?” If we instead of the word “denarius” put the word “talent” or “capability,” would it still be unjust? We all have different capabilities and possibilities, so it is utterly unjust to compare ourselves to one another.
Respecting different possibilities and capabilities of each individual is one of the most important tasks in our community. This could apply to our family, school community, church youth groups or representatives of the church organizations. Everyone knows that it is very important to respect ones upbringing from the early childhood all the way to the old age. We are all sensitive if someone disagrees with our upbringing.  We are sensitive because God had created us as unique individuals, precious and worthy. If somebody interferes with our uniqueness, everything within us complains and screams in the name of injustice, because if God had created all things and me, who deserves the right to touch his creation?
Only God knows the heart of men and only God knows the grandness of mercy that every human being is capable to receive. The message to us on this Sunday and from today’s readings could be, “Let every man examine his own heart and work and not be judgmental of others.” We are all God’s creatures, precious and unique.
